The Domestic Cleaning Industry Awards 2024 Results are in!!!
What a fantastic night was had by all on Friday 22nd November at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre when nearly 90 people from the cleaning industry came together to celebrate the BEST our industry has to offer!
We kicked off with a few welcome drinks and a chance for everyone to have a professional photo taken while they were all dressed up to the absolute nines. Then it was time to get seated and ready for a delicious 3 course meal and start the awards presentations.
With our professional compere James Sherwood keeping everyone entertained and on track, we kicked off the first awards presentation of the night. This one “The Most Eco Friendly Business” Award. Presented by Matt Burtinshaw, MD of our sponsor for this award, Lime Sustainable Supplies, it was clear that the competition had been fierce and choosing our top 3 a task that meant really assessing each contender in turn. And the winners were:
Then it was the award for “Best Employer”, sponsored by HR specialists BrightHR and presented by Muhammed Safdar from BrightHR. Again, such a strong category with some amazing and innovative business owners really looking after their teams:
Our third award was for the “Best Newcomer” to the industry and with such an impressive field there were four winners in this category. Sponsored by specialist scheduling software provider, Zenmaid and presented by TV presenter Richard Pearson from Filthy House SOS, our judges were so impressed with these relative newbies who are really going places!
The first of our publicly voted categories was the “Best Deep Cleaning Business” Award. Our judges shortlisted 4 fantastic businesses to be put to the public vote so we already knew we had some real winners, so it was down to the voters to put them in order. Sponsored by Biohazard and Trauma Cleaning Training Providers Ultima Cleaning Academy and presented on the night by the DCBN’s own Louise Trehearn, our winner Bath Specialist Cleaning Solutions sadly couldn’t make it on the night but our winners in order were:
Then it was the turn of our sponsor BICSc and their Technical Manager, the lovely Denise Hanson to present the award for “Best Staff Training” and this meant a second win for Maid for Each Other, who had an amazing night and for Capable Cleaners who again picked up their second award.
Our sixth award and the second of the publicly voted categories was for “Best Holiday Let Cleaning Business”. Sponsored by cleaning products supplier Avica UK and presented by DCBN Director Diane Greenwood, this was one of the most hotly contested categories in the public vote and it came with an extra gift alongside the lovely glass engraved award of a bottle of bubbly courtesy of the team at Avica UK. And a third award of the night for Maid for Each Other! The public vote put them in the following order:
One of our small but mighty categories was the “Community Champion” Award with our judges selecting their best two entrants, with a huge list of many many ways they support their local community. A second award for HP Cleaning and Support here to the delight of everyone there. Sponsored by paperwork processing gurus Docflite and presented by TJ and Elaine Amas from Docflite this was a favourite category for everyone hearing what these great businesses have achieved in 2024.
Then a fun category, the “Best Social Media Award”. Such a vital part of marketing, there are just some businesses that can’t help being great at it! A second award for Bath Specialist Cleaning Solutions and a third award for Capable Cleaners, what a celebration we had! Sponsored by digital marketing specialists Digitool and presented via a lovely video from Daisy Foster of Digitool our winners were:
The next award is such an important category, the “Best Domestic Cleaning Operative” Award. Presented by a real cleaning VIP, Delia Cannings, Chair of the British Cleaning Council and Director of Environmental Excellence Training and Development. We know that our industry is really important to Delia so we were thrilled that for the second year running she’d agreed to present this award and of course this time live at the party!
And our final main award of the night was the third publicly voted category, the “Best Domestic Cleaning Business” Award. The voting for this one was so close throughout the two weeks the vote was open but we knew that all four would be worthy winners. Another award for Just Helpers and an amazing fourth award of the night for Capable Cleaners! Sponsored by specialist cleaning insurers Gleaming Insurance and presented by Robbie Spear from Gleaming.
And just to finish the celebrations off, there were two special awards given by our DCBN team Diane and Louise to recognise two special people in our industry who are real supporters and go above and beyond to help others. The first was for Keith Hennebelle from MBT Property Management for all his help and support of the DCBN and our members. A big hug from Diane and a bottle of champagne went to a very surprised and delighted Keith! Our second special recognition award went to Beckie Kelsey of Bath Specialist Cleaning Solutions who sadly couldn’t be there on the night but was recognised for her work in the industry and her support for the DCBN and it’s members.
And all that was left was for us to thank everyone who entered, who presented, our sponsors, our fantastic compere James and then it was real party time as the music started and we partied until late in the evening!
Thank you everyone for joining us for the cleaning industry party of the year 2024 and we’ll see you all next year!!
